The Cardinals lost 9 of their past 11 games. They are 22 and 19 after a 20 and 10 start of the season and fall from first to fourth place in the NL central.
So whats going on? For starters an inconsistent defense. The Cards are making errors that resulted in losses. With that said, I can safely say they are not the error crazy team we all knew over the past three seasons. The truth of this season is the small hiccups that lead to big issues.
The Bats seem to have cooled down. Over the last few games the average run is one or two.
The batters at the plate seemed to be out gunned by opposing pitching, Ozuna, Dejong and Carpenter have run out of gas and need to start putting the heat back on. These are the guys, along with Goldscmidt, that need to get on base so the back of the line up can bring them around to score.
The train needs to get back on track and fast. They need to produce better at bats and be more consistent with the defense. The Cubs, Brewers, and Pirates are bringing it and don’t show signs of cooling off any time soon. The Cards have to be ready to bring up the flame and extinguish the competition.
That’s all I have to say about that. GO Cards!
