The Cardinals and Royals look to gain ground in their respective divisions during this week’s I-70 series.
On this episode of Two Birds on a Bat, Jim and Steve are here with Bengie Molina to take a look at a positive weekend for the St. Louis Cardinals and the fact that they are still only 3.5 games behind the first place Chicago Cubs heading into this week’s I-70 series.
The Cardinals took two out of three games from the lowly Cincinnati Reds over the weekend and now head into the annual home-and-home series with the in-state rival Kansas City Royals. However, even in victory, questions still surround a Cardinals lineup that can be hot one day, and hitless the next. Does Stephen Piscotty need a break, or should he continue to play? Can the Cardinals front office continually tell us they are all about winning while not giving considerable playing time to a player like Jose Martinez?
Plus, the guys welcome Nate McHenry for the “Rally Squirrel Report“, and Nate tells us what he expects to see this week from two teams still in the hunt for a division crown.
